Thankful for Closed Doors

closed doorAs I was reflecting on my thoughts and gratefulness this morning, I got to thinking about my life and all the times I wished this or that door would have opened mainly because it would helped me in some way.

Of course looking back now, I’m thankful that none of those situations or doors opened because it forced me to find the right path for me. If you feel like you are in the same situation and doors are closing every where you turn, then I ask you to think about this. Life is like a maze. You know what a maze is right? In a maze, you start at one end and the objective is to get to the finish line.

Many times you start out one way only to hit a dead-end, so you have to go another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just means you have to go another way. Just like life, that door closes sends you another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just mean you need to go another way. If you keep moving you eventually get to where you are going. And if you have ever been in a life-size maze – there is no option to give up! YOU keep GOING to the finish line!

Another thing to remember when you’re in a maze, as in life, is to remember where you’ve been.  If you get turned around and confused in a maze, in order to get out, you have to remember the dead-ends that you’ve already been to.  Just like in life, you have to remember the closed doors so you don’t waste time going that way again.

If you want to get to your dreams, you can’t expect to get there by doing the same thing and by going to the same places. You must try something different. I’m not saying give up on your dream, I’m saying try another path to the SAME dream! Same maze, Same dream – but take a different direction to get there.

I feel sorry for those that GIVE up on their dream because the going gets HARD!! I’m here to tell you IT’S GOING TO GET HARD! SO WHAT? Do you want your dream or not?!  MAKE IT HAPPEN! Don’t stop because a door has closed. Learn to Thank God for closed doors. You have to trust that if God wanted you to go that way, then no man can close that door. I can assure you that there a door open somewhere. It’s the right one! Keep on your path. Don’t stop until you are living your dream!

Love & Closed Doors,

Deanna

  1. Amen! We give up way too easily sometimes. I think obstacles are great because they can be the fuel to motivate us to fight for our dreams and do what it takes to reach them instead of back down and give up.

Great post. Just what I needed to read as I have been going through the same situation for a while. It really does get exhausting at times but I will not give up. I am grateful for the closed doors 🙂
