Words can either be shared in a good or bad way. One thing I do know for sure, words have power. Sometimes people speak without thinking before they speak. The words spoken are based on what they are feeling in the moment, if they are upset, the words will be out of anger or hurt. What is said towards another human being can yield a powerful blow.
We all have had those moments, and for the most part, we feel remorse when we see the other person’s hurt.
I have witnessed this action happen a few years ago. I yielded the words, and I regretted it immediately! I saw his hurtful face, as if I’d pierced his heart with a spear and I did to him. I will never ever forget that look as long as I live. From that day on, I promised myself I’d never do that again! I’d never yield words in anger towards someone whom I love and respect because I’m hurt. That moment is etched in my memory because I felt his pain in that moment. I wish I could take it back.
Least we forget the golden rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. Our words have power to uplift or break. Keep that in mind if you find yourself in this situation, or one similar. Walk away to calm down and table the conversation when you are calmer.
I will always regret that moment, but it has and never will happen again.
Words of encouragement – our words have power. Use them wisely and in a kind manner.
