Think thoughts of perfection. Illness cannot exist in a body that has harmonious thoughts. Know there is only perfection, and as you observe perfection you must summon that to you. Imperfect thoughts are the cause of all humanities ills, including disease, poverty, and unhappiness. When we think negative thoughts we are cutting ourselves off from our rightful heritage. Declare and intend, I think perfect thoughts. I see only perfection. I am perfection.

What is the MOST Important Lesson to Teach our Kids?

  • love 1cortAs a woman of age, who raised her kids all by herself from the time they were 2 & 4, I speak with words of wisdom and experience.

Children absorb so much when they are young. They are constantly looking to their parents and family members who are close to them, as their teachers. They are looking to these people to be the example for them to role model.

It is a huge, a really HUGE role – probably the most important role a parent gives their children. When you are young however, you don’t realize the importance you  play by your actions. Even when you don’t think they are looking, they are.

Some will say they want to teach their children the importance of picking a career, teaching them about money, teaching them values, teaching them to stand up for themselves, and teaching them about God. And ALL of these are important! However, as it states in 1 Corinthians 13 —-the greatest of these is LOVE!

I say this because I see so many marriages that aren’t happy, aren’t working, and two people who aren’t in love and are just together because of the kids. Don’t you think they know you aren’t happy aren’t in love, and basically just trying to get through each day! You are teaching them just that. Don’t you want them to see both mother and dad being happy and in love? Show them what love truly can be like.

I know it’s a double edge sword too. Never make this decision lightly. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but what I am saying is this is important. I married early on in my life for the wrong reasons, and it didn’t work because of that. Huge mistake, except for the two wonderful children I have. BUT, I wanted to have them to see me happy rather than not happy. I was happy alone knowing my soul mate would arrive one day. And I loved them with all my happiness everyday as well.

THE MOST important decision anyone makes in life is WHO THEY CHOOSE TO MARRY! Right? Teach them the importance of taking time to figure out the values, beliefs and characteristics of each person they date. Never settle for someone who doesn’t value them. Relationships should be easy like in baseball, pitch and catch. Will you have disagreements? Absolutely!  Can you agree to disagree? Absolutely! Relationships are about love and respect.  Set the example for your children – BE the example for them.  BE IN LOVE with your partner in life.

Loving yourself first is highly taught but not easily practiced. It’s something everyone struggles with. We are the first to self criticize, blame, or feel guilty.  We can’t even look in the mirror without criticizing something.

It’s true that with age and enlightenment, comes wisdom of life and spirit. I’ve come through some amazing storms to be transformed in a greater way. One thing you can count on ~ you will always have storms to grow from. But you must remember, the storm will stop at some point, and the sun will come out brighter than before. You’ve come out stronger and better than you were.

One thing that must remain is love which includes self-care.

Self care is all about taking care of your inner home.  It’s the center of all that flows out of you. If you aren’t at peace, but feeling anxious, angry, or stressed, then those energies will flow out of you without you consciously knowing it.

When taking care of your home, you clean, scrub, make it beautiful & comfortable. You take out all the trash and make it smell wonderful inside. Right?  In self-care,  you feel nourished from within.

Here are few things you can begin self-care….

1.  Pampering Massage. Book time with a therapist instead of sitting on a massage chair in your local mall. Enjoy an hour-long full body massage for complete relaxation of every muscle in your body.

2.  Meditate. Retreat to a peaceful place, away from the noise, crowd or clutter. It’s in the silence, breathe, and no distractions where you center yourself. This takes some practice and you might want to take a class to learn what’s works for you. I now start my day with meditation – early before anyone can distract me.

3.  Learn to say No. Have you been feeling overwhelmed because you are in the habit of saying yes to all kinds of requests? Learn to say no without feeling guilty. People should understand without explanation.

4.  Eat Healthy! Cook something easy – fresh and light. Chicken breast and salad. Your body will show appreciation and you will feel better for it.

5.  Enjoy a warm bath. Don’t take a quick shower but take a long, hot, relaxing bath. Shut your eyes and let all the worries or aches melt away.

6.  Go offline – shut off your phone, computer, internet, tablet and other devices. Reduce the mental clutter for a while. It’s okay for a bit. The world won’t collapse without you.

Those are a few ways to begin self care. You are the source of love and taking care of your inner home is extremely important.
