Thankful for Closed Doors

closed doorAs I was reflecting on my thoughts and gratefulness this morning, I got to thinking about my life and all the times I wished this or that door would have opened mainly because it would helped me in some way.

Of course looking back now, I’m thankful that none of those situations or doors opened because it forced me to find the right path for me. If you feel like you are in the same situation and doors are closing every where you turn, then I ask you to think about this. Life is like a maze. You know what a maze is right? In a maze, you start at one end and the objective is to get to the finish line.

Many times you start out one way only to hit a dead-end, so you have to go another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just means you have to go another way. Just like life, that door closes sends you another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just mean you need to go another way. If you keep moving you eventually get to where you are going. And if you have ever been in a life-size maze – there is no option to give up! YOU keep GOING to the finish line!

Another thing to remember when you’re in a maze, as in life, is to remember where you’ve been.  If you get turned around and confused in a maze, in order to get out, you have to remember the dead-ends that you’ve already been to.  Just like in life, you have to remember the closed doors so you don’t waste time going that way again.

If you want to get to your dreams, you can’t expect to get there by doing the same thing and by going to the same places. You must try something different. I’m not saying give up on your dream, I’m saying try another path to the SAME dream! Same maze, Same dream – but take a different direction to get there.

I feel sorry for those that GIVE up on their dream because the going gets HARD!! I’m here to tell you IT’S GOING TO GET HARD! SO WHAT? Do you want your dream or not?!  MAKE IT HAPPEN! Don’t stop because a door has closed. Learn to Thank God for closed doors. You have to trust that if God wanted you to go that way, then no man can close that door. I can assure you that there a door open somewhere. It’s the right one! Keep on your path. Don’t stop until you are living your dream!

Be A Blessing

blessing to others“You are good. But it is not enough just to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute good to the world. The world must be a better place for your presence. And the good that is in you must be spread to others….” ― Gordon B. Hinckley

I don’t know about you but I wake up every morning happy and grateful for another day to BE A BLESSING to others. It’s not about me, or things, or getting what I want. I think of how I can help those in my life whether its business or personal.

I take time in the mornings to mediate and verbally say what I am grateful for. Meditation centers my soul and gives me a deep peace in a love space and I truly believe it makes a difference in starting my day. Some people journal, some people say a prayer or talk to God, some people exercise, others just rush out of bed to shower and get out the door just in time. I believe it makes a difference in how we START our day.

Take just 15 minutes every morning for YOU. Everyone can do 15 minutes!! Do what helps you to center yourself in love and gratitude. It will put a spring in your step, give you a positive attitude to begin your day, and it will no doubt make you wear a beautiful smile. When you begin your day in that way, don’t you think it will make a difference? Of course it will. How could it not?  With out you even knowing it – YOU will be a blessing to someone.

Be a Blessing – Begin your day with YOU first, then you can give to others!

Love and Giving,

I AM Beautiful…..

you are beautiful“I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” Psalms 139:14

How cool is that statement? I am wonderfully made and how wonderful are your works! I know we all are unique. Out of all the people on this earth, YOU are you and YOU alone. You are divinely made. Your soul is designed just for you. AWESOME to know that – right?

I know when you look in the mirror you see your imperfections, but God doesn’t. I think He sees you as his work of art as would an artist. He loves you unconditionally.  We as humans can’t help but see the flaws. BUT tell yourself – “I am wonderfully made”

I really don’t like pictures of myself only because I see the imperfections. I was speaking to someone yesterday, and he was telling me how he loves my cover photo on FB. I went on to say “Oh – I don’t because of xyz.” He looked shocked at me. And you know what he said?  He said ” You are beautiful and I don’t see what you see”.  NOW, isn’t that a shut your mouth moment. I felt so tiny in that moment, but I also felt very beautiful. Others don’t see the flaws as we do.

I often wondered why so many people love to post and take pictures of themselves and can’t wait to post it to Facebook. They pose and they even know what position or angle of the camera makes them look best. They know they are wonderfully made – that’s why! They don’t care what anyone else thinks. They see the beauty that God made.

You are designed and crafted by the one and only God. Smile inside and see the beauty he sees in you and what others see too. “You are BEAUTIFUL darling!”

Pose and smile… 🙂

Today is a Gift

Today is a gift. It is something we think we will have years of, but honestly we aren’t promised another day. We are given this day as an unique and special gift. A gift that needs to be appreciated. And our only response should be one of gratefulness. Treat each day as if it were your first day and your last day. Know that each thought, each action, each word, and each moment are unique to this day.

Open your eyes to that which is around you. Look up to see the sky as the clouds move. See the wonderful sun and the beautiful colors as it sets in the evening or the serenity as it rises in the morning. Watch a bird fly in all it’s beauty. Open your eyes to all parts of mother nature and the awesomeness of all living life forms. The changing of the seasons allows us to see how beautiful nature is.

Open your heart to this gift. Allow yourself to be touched by others on this day. Make sure you touch someone else with your presence, just with your touch or words of kindness. You are the source of making a difference to someone each day you are given.

As you open your heart to gratefulness remember this….. If we treat this day as an unique gift then you will have spent this day well.

with gratefulness,

De
